Electric traction continues to position itself as the main type of traction on the railways in developed countries. This is enhancing the current and future development of new equipment and systems to primarily improve energy efficiency in traction, improved integration of rail networks with general electrical networks and improving the interoperability of electric rail systems. In the present article deals specifically what current and future technologies are expected to be developed and improved energy efficiency regarding traction.
