Track examination and maintenance on the Madrid-Seville high speed line: analysis of the experience and deduction of new maintenance criteria
Track maintenance on railway lines is more and more based on controlling the evolution of track geometry through the examination of the track. However, in order to achieve a fully predictive maintenance, knowing the condition of the track is not enough. It is also necessary to anticipate what the behaviour of the track will be according to the variables of traffic, infrastructure and track superstructure itself. This work assesses the influence of these variables based on the study of track behaviour on the Madrid-Seville high speed line during its first decade of service.
