In 1763, José de Hermosilla, also under the patronage of King Charles government, designed an
essentially enlightened project: an urban promenade along the Prado, surrounded by buildings
with a cultural and scientific use: the Royal Botanical Garden, more extended than now, linked
to the Natural History Cabinet, now Museo del Prado.
